I am very new to this topic so I was wondering if anyone could help me how to proceed from basic to applied simulation?

Any suggestion of good books, links would be appreciated.

Books wont really be able to take you from basic to applied..... they may be useful references, but in the end you just have to start simulating and history matching

It's already discussed in some topics. Maybe you should find it by yourself. And as a suggestion, I think you should try and start using the software. Then, you can read the manual to see if that can help you. Somehow, you'll understand it.
