Thread: Inconsistency error in Hysys

  1. Inconsistency error in Hysys

I am new to hysys i was trying to solve a case of acid gas sweetening with DEA
i am getting this error can anybody help to rectify it and such errors

A consistency error has occurred. This can arise either when two objects calculate differing values for the same variable or one object's calculations are conflicting with existing specifications.

In general, this means that the simulation is overspecified.

However, if the discrepancy is small and one of the values is calculated by a column flowsheet, tightening the column solver tolerances may eliminate the inconsistency.

please Let me know where this column solver is for a separator??? i am using Aspen Hysys 2006

    Any help will be appreciated,

  3. If you do not have a column or a recycle block, REcheck your simulation. There is a overspec somewhere in your model.

the problem is in the separator (2 phase)

i aspecified T,P,FR and Comp for feed and pressure drop for the separator, this is the minimum requirement, as far as i know there is no overspec,

anyway i rectified it, was using DBR amine package for the entire process which was causing problem with the calculations in the separator as the DEA comp in the separator was 0,

so i tried multiple fluid packages, for the separator i used amine package and for the rest of the process DBR amine package ...it worked,

    Thanks for replying,
