I'm sorry i haven't able to run the software.

I have confgure flexlm with lmtools.exe
after that i configured the license file to it's place
but still it didn't recognize it as a license file



From the status query:

Would u mind to explain it again each that it takes to run the software.

h2hydrogenz.. i don't know what happens in the your computer, but if you don't configure the license file with your Hostname, the license file doesn't work...
Don't forget to put the dll in system32 folder... After configure the flexlm server with lmtool.exe.... and the program work.........

This is the steps how i did it:

1. Unpack and install OLGA 6. No problem at this point.

2. Copy ibfs32.dll to C:\Windows\System 32

3. Modify license file with following header:
SERVER (my pc) ANY 7570
VENDOR scplmd
USE_SERVER

4. Copy license file to C:\Program Files\--- Group\Licenses

5. Install --- Lic Handler. After this part i don't know exactly what to do

--- Lic Handler window is shown up. If i choose "use a lic server on this machine" then the status is "STOP" license are not available. If i choose " connect to network lic server" the the status is green. However when i run Olga, it is still give "failed to start due to lic error"

I seen that you don't know how to configure the flexlm.... on Olga........
To configure and install olga with flexlm read the install notes...
Configure it with lmtool.exe...
Search on the web how to configure the flexlm server with lmtool.exe.......

I have followed your instruction by searching on the web in how to configure the flexlm server with lmtools.exe
This is how i set the lmtools.exe:

1. Open a command prompt and goto the bin directory of FLEXlm
2. Startup LMTOOLS.exe
3. Select the "Configure Services" tab.
4. Enter in a Service Name (there is already -----power PT service). i insert abcde
5. Browse to the path of lmgrd.exe which is c:\program files\spt group\flexlm\lmgrd.exe
6. Browse to the path of license_xxx.dat which is c:\Program Files\SPT Group\Licenses\olga.lic
7. Browse to the path of debug.log which is c:\program files\spt group\licenses\
8. Mark the "Use Services" option
9. Mark "Start Server at Power Up"
10. Click on "Save Service".
11. Choose Yes to "Save".
12. Select the "Start/Stop/Reread" tab. I make sure the service that I created in is highlighted.
13. Click on Start button.
14. I perform license server status enquiry under the "Server Status" tab and this is the result of from the status:

1. you should correct the beginning of license file with expression that in the previous posts exist.
2-when you configure the LicMgr.exe, you should enter 7570@"your computer name" in the location of license server

Dear all, and specially h2hydrogenz:

I spent all day studying the subject. I found a way to make it work (at least in my computer).

I read the FlexNet End User Guide (from now on simply “User Guide”). You can download it from

This User Guide explains the different types of “lic” files. When comparing the “lic” file of this software with the examples provided in the User Guide, one realizes that this is Node-Locked “lic” file, subtype “uncounted” (refer to User Guide page 25).

If the number of lic… is uncounted, then the lic… does not require an lmgrd or a vendor daemon because it is not going to count the concurrent usage of the features.

To make it simple…., proceed as follow and it will work…

1- The first line of “lic” file shall be: SERVER this_host [Ethernet address]

(To get your ethernet address run LmTools, go to Systems Settings tab –left side-.)

2- Do not add in the “lic” file a second line such VENDOR scplmd or a third line such USE_SERVER.

3- Run the Lic… Handler, choose the third option (node locked lic…), press the “configure” button, specify the path to the "lic" file, press the "ok" button, and then the "close" button.

4- Run LmTools. Go to the “Server Status” and press the only button you will see in such tab. Then, go to the “Server Diags” tab and press the only button you will see there. In both cases you should see the related status reports indicating that all is ok.

5- Run the software. It should work. If not, let me know. It is not easy to provide a comprehensive and detailed step by step procedure. I have been working on this during the last 10 hours. I do not exactly remember all what I did. I think I summarized the relevant subjects.

hey man please tell me....what changes do I need to make in the first three lines before I start using OLGA? I provided Host ID, computer unique name and Vendor name as well. However it's still not working? I am getting error -18.
