It's sure that some words are banned by many sites. And in this case, the link of the book that you have uploaded contain unfortunately the letters s of vessels and Ex of External attached. So, they have constituted the word "s e x" and the system changed it automatically by dashes.
I think that is the only reason.
In future, check your link. If it contains dashes is that they replace a word banned by the system.
It's just my opinion. Ask the administrator for more explanation.
