Hi everyone,
I am doing my project on development of a black start and restoration plan for bulk power system. First I am going to create a black out in the test system I have drawn using ETap. I have used Powerworld simulator earlier and I remember it showed the message "Black out" on such events on screen. I searched ETap manual completely, but in the only mention I found in Transient stability studies section it only roughly says that certain Transient Stability Problems may result in black outs.I am using ETap 11 in my college.
1. If anyone encountered black outs in simulation using ETap, please suggest how to get one because I
created many faults but none resulted in black out.???
2. I am considering 11kV, 110kV, 220kV lines only. At these levels what kind of relay coordination I must
consider. I have some experience with overcurrent relay coordination but I know at transmission line
levels only distance relay coordination is considered in practice, in which I have only theoretical
knowledge(Never done in ETap) .
I am no expert in ETap and resource persons around me are zero. So I welcome all suggestions, answers from the forum about above two points.
waiting for replies,
