How to calculate SIF and SIL?

Hello,
I'm currently learning instrumentation regarding reliability and safety. Does anyone here could provide some examples to calculate SIF and determine the SIL?
Are those calculation has different method for BPCS and SIS? since they are separated by different protection layer (IEC-61161).
