    pls provide books/articles on two phase flow erosion corrosion especially in steam/condensate systems

    You can refer API 14E (Recommended Practice for Design and Installation of Offshore Production Platform Piping Systems).

    Velocity should be less than erosional Velocity except for liquid relief and blow down lines
    Ve = C / (ρm)^0.5
    where:
    Ve = erosional velocity, m/s
    C = empirical constant (122 for conti service &153 for intermittent service, API 14E)
    ρm = gas/liquid mixture density at flowing pressure & temperature, kg/m3

    However, as per Shell guidelines, the values of empirical constant C in API RP-14E are now considered as conservative and there are certain new guidelines available for "C" values.

    Shell has suggested to add multiplier of "1.35"for carbon steel and "1.86" for stainless steel to the C value suggested in API-14E.

    Hope it helps.

    Hi nkholiya,
    Where did you read the Shell values of the empirical constant "C"?
    Thank you.
