Practice for masonry contruction is not clear, at least for me.
NCMA recommends to fit openings and dimensions to the concrete blocks layout. This layout allows to build the walls, without cut any block.
Avoiding cutting blocks seem to be cheaper and easier. But, constructors instead prefers not to be limited by the concrete block layout or drawings were exactly position for blocks and reinforcement are indicated.
What is the correct practice? How detailed should be the masonry walls and openings in this kind of constructions?
