Thread: Thickness of Storage Tanks annular plates (Case HxG>25)

Question Thickness of Storage Tanks annular plates (Case HxG>25)

I've never thought about the case in which the product HxG shows a number greater than 25.

But I am now studying a tank with a specific gravity of the product more than 1,3 and a total height of 25 m.

In this case, API 650, 5.5.3, tells that an elastic analysis must be made to determine the annular plate thickness.

Is the first time on my career I find this problem (more than 15 years), and I am not sure how to manage it.

If anyone can help me, I will appreciate it.

Thanks a lot in advance and best regards

If you share more information with me I can try to help you.
Just tell me what is the diameter and volume of the tank.
