Hello everyone
In the manufacturing process of the Nylon, drying of the pellets of caprolactam is a critical step. This drying is done usually in Rotary dryers. The behavior of the granulated product (pellets) differs markedly from a fluid, difference that manifests itself in two aspects: the transmission of forces between pellets and the free surface of product profile and the calculation of these two parameters is essential to analyze the behavior of process dryers and.
The continuous movement of the dryers induces an also continuous movement of the product (pellets). For the calculation of efforts we are trying to describe the product as an incompressible non-Newtonian fluid with a viscosity that depends on the speed of shear and pressure that characterize the type of underlying friction in the middle.
I would like to contact with technicians who have worked on similar problems (pellets) and Rotary dryers and exchange information in this respect.
Thanks in advance
