Thread: Power Supply cables of Trace Heating system

  1. Power Supply cables of Trace Heating system

In order to size the power cable to supply a Trace Heating circuit, does anyone know how should be the maximum acceptable voltage drop at Starting Trace Heating Junction Box ? is it 5% reasonable or there is any different rule?
    Thank you very much ,
    Giu.

You need to look it up in the applicable electrical code. The info you look for should be there. Example: USA->NFPA 70, NEC Canada -> CEC Part 2 (I think) etc...
Let me know if this helps and which code, I might be able to help further...
    Good luck
