3 Phase V-L spearator Vertical or Horizontal

Dear All

Please guide me for selection criteria of utilizing 3 phase separator choosing between Horizontal and vertical drums.

Three-phase tipically are horizontal. The vertical orientation is only used if there is a large amount of vapor to be separated from a small amount of the light and heavy liquid (<10-20% by weight). Sometimes, both configuration should be evaluated to decide which is more economical (Monnery, Wayne and Svrcek, William, 1994).
