Evol = Ex*Ey
Area Sweep is lateral, function of horizontal permeability
Vertical Sweep is vertical or owing to vertical permeability

sweep efficiency is the percentage of the reservoir that is SATURATED at given moment by injecting fluid. However, this could be more complex to predict if we keep in mind that maybe the injecting fluid cannot fully saturate any pore and pore throat, so the sweep efficiency definition (in my opinion) could be changed to the percentage of the reservoir that is REACHED at given moment by injecting fluid. The most clear estimates of sweep efficiency are possible by flooding calculations, like Buckley Leverett, Craig etc. However, these calculations provide rough estimates compared to numerical reservoir simulations.
