Hi,
Can someone explain to me why maximum allowable stress for trunnion on bends is equal to hot allowable stress?
No pad is allowed on elbows, that is the background for this?
If the trunnion is placed on straight pipe the maximun allowable stress is 1.5xhot allowable stress (up to yield)?
This is stated in NORSOK L-002 offshore standard norwegian shelf.

I have also noted that EN 13480 is only dealing with trunnion of straight pipe and uses same method as described in these papers:
