i want to ask regarding jet fire model in PHAST (cone model and API model). what's the difference between both of them? PHAST v6.7 help give me this statement: "The Cone method treats the flame as a tilted cone frustum, whereas the API model treats it as a banana-shaped plume—i.e. tapered at the ends, and bent by the wind." -- but i can't understand what's the meaning. from what i've tried, an API model don't really consider wind speed because the results between two different wind speeds aren't too far. on the other hand, cone model many times gave result "no hazard" for 100% fatality and radiation length less than the fire length (esp for small leaks) -- while the API model gave the opposite.

therefore, my question here: how we should chose a representative jet fire model for every different case? thank you very much.
