RIH TCP guns & perforate overbalanced with 15.2ppg brine (expected pressure was 14.9ppg formation pressure) f/5217.5-5233.5 & 5256.5-5265m.

Observe 200psi on choke manifold, shut well & observe pressure increase to 560psi. SICP-295 & SIDP 221psi. Before shutting well SICP-335 & SIDP-647.

Circulate #1 well with drillers method OBSERVED INITIAL SICP 304 PSI & SIDPP 574 PSI, observe 14.08% of gas at surface. Stop circulation & monitor well. SICP 326psi & SIDP 300psi. Bleed of ¾ bbl through choke & obs SICP-250 & SIDP 237psi. Shut well & monitor well, SICP–400psi & SIDP–376psi.

Begin #2 circulation with 15.2ppg brine through down the string & up the choke. SIDPP- 700psi and SICP-367psi. Max gas observed 11.85%. Last recorded pressures Drill pipe 685psi casing pressure 317 psi. Shut in well on choke and observed for pressure buil up. SIDPP-532psi, SICP-518psi. FIRST Bleed off 0.75bbls , DP -211PSI, CP-205PSI. Shut in well on choke and observed for pressure buil up. SIDPP-347psi, SICP-348psi. SECOND Bleed off 0.75bbls
sicp-105psi, sidpp-107psi.

Shut well, Pressure increased to sicp-180psi, sidpp-180psi. Bleed off 3/4bl. sicp-41psi, sidpp-41psi. 2100-2200 shut in well to observe pressure build up. sicp-64psi, sidpp-55psi. bled off 1 1/4bbl. sicp-12psi, sidpp-25psi. Shut in well to observe pressure build up. sicp-27psi. sidpp-27psi.

#3rd circulation of driller’s method. initial pressure: sicp-150psi, sidpp-476psi. max gas observed 22.2% after bottoms up. further circulation is in progress.


To balance current well control situation required brine weight is 15.5ppg & overbalance is 15.6ppg. Chemicals to prepare higher ppg brines are not available & also well cannot be displaced with available SOBM mud as the 7” tie back packer is not compatible with SOBM mud.
