Dear members,
I just want to learn about bolted joint design procedures developed by the German engineering society Verein Deutscher Ingenieure (VDI).
Please share me VDI 2230

VDI 2230 is an excellent resource for bolted joint design. I think this is an easy one to find on the web. If you make a search and still cannot find, let me know and I will be happy to assist further.
This link shows what is contained in VDI 2230:

Here is a link where the VDI 2230 code can be read online:

Mej,
Thanks for the reply. Please share me the code itself, it will be helpful for me. I was reading Bickford book on Gasket and gasketed joints, he says that all physics behind flange design followed ASME Codes is deailed in VDI 2230.
"The codified rules, by comparison, have been purposely simplified to ease the burden on the designer. Many of the behavioral details and uncertainties revealed by the VDI equations are hidden in the Code rules, buried within a number of often-invisible safety factors"- Page 404
Moreover I was calculating required bolt perload for 18" flange operating at 550degC. I just want learn form the VDI how they are accomodateing stress relaxation of bolt, creep of gasket and other such factors in bolt preload calculation.
Thanks!
Dear Mej,
Would You be so kind as to share the code with me too?
I tried your links and many others on my own, but still lack of useful results for my project.
Sorry for bad English.
Can somebody share VDI 2230 with me aswell? link no longer working
