Thread: Temperature due to Heat Flux

  1. Unhappy Temperature due to Heat Flux

    Hi all,

    I was wondering if someone could help me with the following issue:

    I have a jet fire from a vessel, which applies a heat flux of 15 kW/m2 on a vessel say 10 m away

    How can I calculate the increase in temperature?

    Is it through Q = mc Delta T
    If it is what would I use as m and c?

    Many thanks

    J

    use equation

    T = [(heat flux/stefan boltzmann constant-5.67x 10^-11)+(Temp. of surrounding)^4]
