Thread: Air Eliminator

  1. Air Eliminator

    Dear all Bro,
I'm now doing a project that requires me to install an air eliminator to my strainer.

the problem is..the design pressure of the system is 131 barg which is stand for 900lb rating flange. With my limited resources and idea how air eliminator should be calculated, i hope bro in here could help me on providing any vendor can made an air eliminator for the design pressure stated above.

The working pressure shall be around 76 barg. ill give the details when needed.

if someone have the calculation sheet, i hope you can share it.

    thanks.

    Dear Batarguru

You have a difficult application. When the float is made to withstand such pressure it becomes very heavy and therefore has very low buoyancy making operating the air release valve difficult. If the liquid has low SG, it further aggravates the problem.
Even if you do get a float that can work @ 76 Bar on your SG , please ensure it is isolated when hydro testing the vessel for 900# rating.
In my experience the best way to eliminate air for high pressure applications is as follows
    * design air chamber which is more vertical
    * provide two level switches at low and high liquid level
    * provide a solenoid valve vent connected to the level switches

    Best of luck
