Compressor Air Pressure Drop Calculation

Dear Fr,

Compressor Air Requirement is - 300cfm
Pressure - 6bar
Length of the pipe - 320m

Please Help me the Compressor Air Pipe Dia and Pressure Loss calculation for the same.

As per IS 6206 i am getting wrong Answer so please help me the method for the same...

Dear Srinivas,
IS-6206 formula printed is incorrect. Correct formula is


ΔP = (7.57 X Q^1.85 X L) X 10^(-10)/ (d^5 X P)


Pl. note that P is in Bar absolute and Q in m³/min (FAD).
You can also check other methods given in " piping calculation manual" by Shashi Menon.
