PROCEDURE FOR CALIBRATION OF MACHINES WELDING

What is the purpose?

1. OBJECTIVE
Establish and define the criteria for performing calibration of welding machines

Let's talk a little about the background:

2. EXPLANATIONS / DEFINITIONS

CALIBRATION
Metrological comparison between a measurement device or an instrument with their respective benchmarks, certificates and their accuracy, in order to detect, report or eliminate by adjustment any inaccuracy of the instrument.

DIVERSION
It is the difference in magnitude between the current rating of the welding machine and the actual value measured in amperage volt ammeter clamp, taking as basis the corresponding nominal value.

SWING
It is the difference between the actual maximum and minimum observed in the volt ammeter clamp, taking as basis the average real value of corresponding current.

Whose responsibility is it?

3. RESPONSIBILITIES
Production Supervisor and / or Chief is responsible for:

a) Use only calibrated welding equipment;

b) Advise the staff involved and apply the requirements of this procedure;

c) Arrange and meet with the minimum premises and equipment calibration;

d) Notify the Quality Control prior to the date for the calibration of welding equipment.

3.1 The section of the Quality / welding inspector is responsible for:

a) Calibrate equipment;

b) issue the certificates;

c) affix labels indicating the calibration;

d) verify the validity of the calibration time.

What is the operational method to calibrate?

4: CALIBRATION

4.1 Calibration of Welding Machines

4.1.1 Staff required for calibration:

a) 01 welding inspector;

b) 01 electrician (only the 1st calibration);

c) 01 welder.

4.1.2 Calibration Materials needed:

a) welding consumables;

b) steel plate appropriate;

c) Accessory;

d) Pliers volt / ammeter d.c. (Calibrated).

What is the validity period of a minimum calibration?

5 Frequency of Calibration
5.1 All welding equipment such as welding machines and portable greenhouses should be calibrated before use, and thereafter every six months.
NOTE: This period can be set by the contractor (CLIENT) but not higher than that specified above.
Example: You may require a period of months 3,4,5 calibração.Conforme to perform a new plan for measuring instruments of the company. But may not exceed six months.

Calibration Technique

6 welding machines to manual processes
a) Connect the cable clamp electrode to the positive terminal of the welding machine to be tested;
b) Connect the ground lead plate test and the negative terminal of the welding machine;
c) Connect the welding machine;
d) Set the lever in the desired position amp;
e) Engage with the volt-ammeter clamp the cable clamp electrode;
f) Carry out the reading of the clamp volt-ampere ammeter, comparing it with the values shown on the recorder panel welding machine.

Note: Evidence records calibration results of deviations in form. Calibrations should happen in bands of 80, 140, 180 and 240 amperes. If any machine does not allow setting these values, run the scan in the range as close as possible.

How to register controls the calibration?

7 Registration and Control of Calibrations
7.1 The results of the calibration process must be registered in the Control of Calibration of Welding Machines.
7.2 It should be kept track of time calibration, so no equipment is used with their deadlines expired.
7.3 The equipment may only be labeled when they are approved.

Ok! , What is the acceptance criteria??

8 Acceptance Criteria
8.1 The maximum permissible deviations for calibration are:
a) welding machine: + / - 20%;

Some models of forms and labels in Annex

I hope this has helped.

Thanks.

Yes .. because for each different diameter of each toner cartridge you will have to analyze the low and high amperage, with this phenomenon you will encounter other values of voltage.

VOLTAGE WELDING CIRCUIT

The voltage (V) and intensity (I) of the electric current vary with the
time of the welding circuit

Moments of Arc

open circuit
In the case of open circuit (when no electrode contact with the base metal
the circuit and the voltage and the current maximum and zero.

short Circuit
This is the moment of opening of the arc in which voltage and zero and
current intensity and very high and tends to infinity.
closed circuit
In conducting the welding power source and the current intensity
assume median values and vary according to the height of the arc.

The current intensity is given by the following formula
KNOWN AS THE LAW: Ohm

INTENSITY OF CURRENT: Voltage ÷ Resistencia

That is: I = V ÷ R
Example: R = 0.2
Becomes a particular value for the resistance (R) [0.2 If] and varying the current intensity (I), calculate the voltage (V).

CALCULATION OF OFFSET CALIBRATION OF WELDING MACHINES:

OPEN CIRCUIT: 80 (Machine Off)
CLOSED: 23 @ 27 (On Machine)

Example of Formula: (Real Machine &) # 100 (Machine)

90&85 # 100 @ 90 = 55$
Deviation = 55$ Found

NOTE: The maximum deviation is in accordance with the criteria established by Cliente.Porem not exceeding the amount fixed by the Standard.

Expected again to have helped you.

according to your statement on (clause 8.1.a.), is it available for all types of welding machine??

Which code and standard book do you referred? can you provide me the link or title of the reference book.... thank you..

16. Re: need to welding machine calibration procedure

Does anyone have the code "D3.5: 1993 (R2000) GUIDE FOR STEEL HULL WELDING" and other documents of the American Bureau of Shipping that relate to welding in the manufacture of ships?
Thanks in advance
