storage tank design

Hi frnds,

I am designing a storage tank with a height of 8.5m and 4m dia for sulphuric acid.

For this height does it require wind girder?

Ram,

It depends of a couple of factors including the design wind speed and thickness of shell courses as well as the tank geometry (hight and diameter) which you mentioned above.

Assuming that you are desining an atmospheric storage tank to API 650, refer clause 5.9.7 on how to determine the number of intermediate wind girders.
