2day I have a small question regarding calculating the density.
I tried to solve the problem but I could not ... so could you help me

The question is:
Calculate the density of EP(mix) (30% C2 and 70% C3) at 9.9 MPag and 10C

P1=PTOTAL*0.3 AND P2=PTOTAL*0.7, PTOTAL=9.9T
T=10+273

those are gas you need de gas ideal equations, pv=nrt for each components
and then you multipied for the fractio and sum the density
P1*V1=N1*R*T FOR 1 MOL AND P2*V2=N2*R*T
DENSITY1=PM*P1/(R*T), DENSITY2=PM2*P2/(R*T)
DENSITY=0.3*DENSITY1+0.7*DENSITY2

i am not sure if you used the right methods or not ... but i know that the C2 & C3 are not in gas phase in this question and they are in the liquid phase. therefore the equations you used are not the right once >>>

please update answer based on what mntioned above.

I do not know the behavior of mixture i.e. it behaves like a liquid or gas or both. If it behaves like liquid use the formula below.

Density of C2 at 10C and 9.9MPa x 0.3 + Density of C3 at same conditions x 0.7

If u are unable to get the properties of individual C2 and C3 go to DETHERM properties database or DORTMUND data bank or consult perrys book or Chempak software.
