  1. Loads on tank nozzles

    Hi everybody,

I have recently came accross an article from Lengsfeld, Bardia and Taagepera dealing with stiffness coefficients for tank nozzles.
Such article makes reference to other works published by same authors about stresses and flexibilities of tank nozzles.
Anyone who has them, please share.

İ think your problems solve is " PVP Paper 1279 - Stiffness Coefficients for Nozzles in API-650 Tanks " ,, please send to us your e-mail : i will send it..

    Hi Khayyam,

my apologies since part of my previous post is not showing up in the forum.
I have the article you mentioned about stiffness coefficients (herein attached), what I miss are the following:
    - Nozzle stresses resulting from piping loads at low type nozzles in API 650 storage tanks
    - FEA vs API 650 for low tank nozzles
    - FEA vs API 650 for low tank nozzles (2)
    - Spring rates for low tank nozzles
    - Stress factors for low tank nozzles in API 650 tanks
    - Spring rates for low tank nozzles in API 650 tanks
    - Analysis of loads for nozzles in API 650 tanks

    Re: Loads on tank nozzles

    Dear All

Can anybody will help me in using Apdx -P of API 650. Example given in Code is also not clear:
    (1) It is assumed that nozzle is reinforced as per API 650. It means that RF Pad is always there. But Calculations for Flexibility coefficient & Limiting Loads shows the basic shell thk only.
Pl confirm that it means that use of " ts" only in formulas , will automatically take care of in result is for ( ts + tp ) combined ? ( as tp = ts assumed in original paper) ?
    (2) If Shell - Nozzle Junction is failing, how to increase "tp" & take it into account for flexibility coeff. & stress ( Limit Load ) calculation. as per API -650 Appdx-P.?

    Regards
