MBal for oil & gas reservoir

Hi Gents,

Anyone knows how to define the Material Balance for oil & gas reservoir and what are the main parameters to distinguish such reservoir.

I would aprreciated your help. If you have some reference regarding that matter,that would be great.

This is a basic/fundamental analysis in Reservoir Engineering. You'll be able to read more about it in any reservoir eng book, however, I recommend you to read the appropiate chapter in this book: AHMED - Reservoir Engineering Handbook, 3ed.

Dear resident_evil,

There isn´t a text book entirely devoted to Material Balance. This important/fundamental topic is covered in one or two chapters in any book on Reservoir Engineering. The most recent book on Reservoir Eng, as far as I know, is the 4th edition of the Reservoir Engineering Handbook published by T. Ahmed in 2010. However, the general form of the Material Balance Eq has not changed since its introduction in the 1940´s by Schilthuis, so practically any book on Reservoir Eng will let you understand it.
