Question Aspen Engineering suite 2006 : Installation step-by-step guide

To all who had managed to download & install all the modules of Aspen Suite 2006
( or at least managed to install Aspen Plus, Aspen Process Manual, Aspen Process Tools, etc ) ,
pls help us newbies on the step-by-step procedures.

The suite contain almost all the Aspen modules ( roughly about 714, i think ) & getting
thru the installation is the PROBLEM.

I am seeing recommendation in bits & pieces everywhere in almost every thread & I hope that
this thread would ease all the newbies on procedures.

    Just my 2 cents.

    Thank you

    Cheers.

  2. thank you

Thumbs up Step-by-Step procedure for installing AspenOne 2006

    Dear,
Here's the simple procedure of installing AspenOne Engineering suite:
    1. First copy the directory Magnitude to one of the directories in your hard drive and remember the location.
    2. Then execute ASPEN_LicGen.exe by double clicking in the file.
    3. The license generator takes some time to generate the license file and the license file is created inside the Magnitude directory itself after some time. Once you are prompted that the license file is created, close the ASPEN_LicGen window (a kernel window). The size of the license file is ~84 kB.
    4. Then, insert the DVD-DL in which you have burned Aspen Engineering Suite into your DVD drive, or mount the iso file in any virtual drive. The DVD browser is started automatically by autoplay feature in your system. In case the autoplay fails, manually execute DVDBrowser from the root directory of the DVD.
    5. The DVD browser automatically prompts you to search for the license. Browse to the Magnitude directory in your hard drive in which the license file is created and point to the license file in the Browse window. Then the license manager initializes the license file and it lists all the licensed softwares. Please be patient as it takes some time to enlist the licensed softwares. It obtains license for 710 softwares inside the Engineering suite, if everything goes okay.
    6. Then select the required category of suite you wish to install and press install. That's all; you're done. Enjoy the suite.

    Yours,
    Nskvc

    dear all
i had a great problem with the installation of aspen engineering suite v2006.
I followed all the recommended procedure. I generated the license file with the aspen-lic-gen.exe that created a file. Lic from about 84 kB. Then I installed aspen plus, but it appears the following error
Error 18 The license for this product or feature could not be found. Be sure you are pointing to the correct license file or the license server is configured properly.
The program also requires a connection to a local server. Perhaps I should copy the file. Lic (contains the license keys) in some folder??
please help me. it's really URGENT
can someone send me the procedure to install the email xx.salvo @ hotmail.it???
    best regards
    P.S.sorry for my english

First copy the directory Magnitude to one of the directories in your hard drive and remember the location. (e.g. C:\License\license files...this is the new name of folder magnitude)
Then execute ASPEN_LicGen.exe by double clicking in the file.
The license generator takes some time to generate the license file (about 15 min) and the license file is created inside the Magnitude directory itself after some time (in the new folder C:\license\license file) . Once you are prompted that the license file is created, close the ASPEN_LicGen window (a kernel window). The size of the license file is ~84 kB.

try to install the programs in a folder different by default folder (e.g. C:\Aspentech\...).

I have copied the license file in the install folder (e.g. in C:\Aspentech\Aspen Plus 2006 if you have to install aspen plus)

    good luck

it's working for me now. I solved my problem by not only doing the above, but by deleting and generating a new license once it's installed and using that one with the slm config wizard.

    but nevertheless thanks!

  13. can anyone provide link for downloading the aspen2006 DVD-DL?
