Rodabaugh ORNL 5035 "A Computer Program for the Analysis of Flanges..."

    Hello guys,
theres a program written by Rodabaugh called NESC0689 FLANGE-ORNL "A Computer Program for the Analysis of Flanges Joints with Ring Type Gaskets" from the 70's. Anybody had experience with this code? Can anybody tell me about the reliability and validity of the program and possible provide me the source code, description and/or a compiled copy?

    here s more information

    Hi,
Never seen it but it sounds interesting...
I googled and found the source document free of charge here:

Are you planning to rewrite the program?

thanks for the link, that was the report I was looking for. Still have some learning to do, when it comes to Google... wasn't able to get the link.
Supposedly its written in Fortran, which is still around and I believe Fortran is backward compatible, so it should run in today's Fortran enviroment.

I might rewrite the program, doesn't seem to complicated, but before I do so I need to check whether its suited for my purposes. We have customers which specificly ask for fatigue analysis of our customized flanges (Code compliance) and this seems like a simple and quick solution. Last resort would be FEA...
Might have to get a better copy though... thanks anyhow, will have to study the paper in detail now!

The basis are still the same. FEA is a powerful tool, but dangerous when applies by a fool. Getting back to basics is the first thing, so I dont see why this would not be of any use nowadays.
