Mrbeen,
There's no hotbox design calculation, it's matter of space allocation in the skirt corner without insulation. please refer PIP standards VEFV1123 page 3 of 5 detail 'G" for the guidelines. Hot box is required if the design temperature exceeds 260 degrees centrigrade.
