Dear partners,
I am checking some calculations related to API tanks cathodic protection.
Someone there could submitt any, where the calculations are explained step by step, or indicate some book with the same content.
Regards.

Is there any reference to calculate the size of ANODE for cathodic protection?
The size depends, as I read, of the anode material, the efficiency of the applied coating, the liquid stored, the time between anode replacement, a factor of anode material use.
I think that they are all.

ECH1 but how to design the same? Any book or reference standard?
There are some US military standards, there are some DNV recommended practices for sea submerged piping and steel structures, but I can`t find the same for API tanks.
ECH1, I need calculation / design procedure of Anode for any pressure vessels/heat exchanger. It is not mandatorily that it should be of API.
Mukesh, does the attached manual help?

Thanks tony_black. I have done quick review of the file and found that it shows calculations for size requirements and number of anode requirements etc. Definitely it will help. But after quick review I have not found any thing related with anode sizing for cathodic protection for heat exchanger where we use DM water...Hope detail study may give some idea about the same
Once again thanks.
ECH1 and Mukesh,
Hopefully this will help as well - API 651
Or perhaps this - NACE RP 0196
............. or .............. DNV RP-F103
Thanks tony_black for all above materials.
It seems that TM 5-811-7 and DNV RP-F103 has calculation procedure to find out number and size of anodes that will definitely be useful. And API and NACE documents cover guidelines for cathodic protection. Thanks for all documents.
If you come across any specific document/calculation procedure for cathodic protection of heat exchangers then please share.
Thanks.
