FLACS or Phast risk?
hi all, i am a graduate student doing research on pipeline rupture. there could be a fire or explosion at the rupture section if it is a nature gas pipeline. i am confusing which software is more capable in simulating such cases. please, anyone offer me a recommendation:)

Re: FLACS or Phast risk?
The main difference between PHAST and FLACS is that FLACS is based on CFD principles. It can more accurately reflect the effects of objects such as walls/pipes/etc on gas dispersion. If your pipeline is in an open area then PHAST is more than sufficient. Well, at least that's the stance we have taken on the project I am currently working on. We model all releases in PHAST, and then the ones that encroach on congested areas we re-assess in FLACS.

Hello,
Well as per my experience, PHAST is more easy & correct .
You can Download free version of PHAST from below link for practise-
