simple book/guidelines on choosing instruments for process industry

I will appreciate if anyone has some simple book , guidelines or training manual on how to choose and specify instruments needed in chemical industry like Temp. elements , flow elements , level instruments , pressure gauges and transmitters etc.

The most suitable is ISA S20 Specification forms, that contain Specification Templates, Instructions on how to specify, etc. They are now available as a detailed database.
However, if you are very new to Instrument Engineering, you may need additional assistance on the importance of each specification attribute, how to source out the required specifications.
One more caveat,ISA S20 does not contain specifications on Instrumentation Systems, e.g DCS, SIS, PLCs, SCADA, etc. Still I believe your mentioned requirements will be met.
