I would like to ask is there any method available to carry out online cutting on tank pontoon (with crude inside the tank, full inventory)? Any cold-cut method ever use for this kind of works?
thanks

I know about HPWJ cutting, but there is potential it will flood the pontoon during cutting, and the equipment set-up not convenience especially during on-stream, any other method? Produce no spark and less heat generation...
About the flood you can use pneumatic pumps and drive the flood at the drain of the tank.
Except these the quantity of water is not very much we talke for 20 m^3 .I do these practise many times.
In case you have material in the pontoons there is no problem.

My tank roof is single deck type, hence the pontoons area are not big. Tank size 172'dia. x 54' height. The space require to be cut is around 2' x 3'. I know we can do pumping continuously or depend on water content inside the pontoon to the drain. I have this is my mind. Anyhow the contractor HPWJ use mixture of sand + water. May I know where do you practise this on-stream cutting method?
Note : HPWJ or etc. not really a concern if tank is down and HC free.
