On se propose de sparer par distillation un mlange liquide compos de 40% mol. de n-pentane (dnot brivement C₅) et de 60% de n-hexane (C₆). L'alimentation -- d'un dbit F = 1000kmol /h -- se trouve l'tat de liquide satur sous la pression de 2.8bar. La sparation est effectue dans une colonne de rectification N tages thoriques (condenseur et rebouilleur compris, respectivement tages 1 et N).

En procdant dans une premire opration sous les conditions opratoires ci-aprs :

dbit de distillat, D = 400kmol /h,

taux de reflux RR = (R/D) = 5, avec R, dbit de reflux,

pression de colonne : 2.7-2.9 bars,

on obtient une qualit des produits de tte et de pied de colonne insuffisante xD = 89% et (1-xB) = 93% : pour des produits techniques, la puret doit tre de 95% au minimum pour les deux hydrocarbures.

Afin dobtenir des produits conformes ces spcifications, on a pens augmenter le taux de reflux et changer l'tage d'alimentation en maintenant fixe le reste des paramtres opratoires. Trouver les conditions permettant datteindre les purets xD = 95% et (1-xB) = 96.5%.
