Just wanted to say thanks. I'm still not sure that I understand how these crystals formed. Some things that I didn't mention. These poles are 2ply poles* 3/8" thick per ply. The inner ply has aproxametly (12) 3/4" holes for venting purposes. This formation extended up to 15' up the pole which is 20' long.
