## Pressure in a pipeline

Forgive me for asking this 'stupid' question.

As per the image attached above* which one of the P2 will be bigger? The upper one or lower one?

From my research*
As the flow rate remains constant through a straight pipeline* the velocity will increase when the diameter or size of the pipe / nozzle decrease.
When the velocity of the fluid in a nozzle or pipeline increase* pressure will decrease.

Will a higher velocity fluid produce more force* and then pressure?

Example* when we make a little opening at the pipe outlet* the velocity of the fluid will increase and lead to a stronger force (pressure) as it can travel in a longer way. (Is this correct?)
We will feel the force or pressure if the fluid's velocity increases (such as pain)?

Appreciate if someone can help me by explaining to me. Thank you.

As pressure head is converted to velocity head* one thing increases other decreases* a law of conservation of energy.

dear Loo Kian Sing . very thanks for your interested question
in your case if the pressures are the same in both cases = P1 . the pressure losses in the second case will be higher than the first case because of increase in fraction losses in second case due to decrease in diameter so p2 in the first line will be higher than be p2 in the second line
