    Arrow API 620 vs ASME VIII Div1

    Hi friends*

    Im design a vessel/tank and the customer wants us to use API620* I want to know if I can use ASME instead* is this allowed???

    Tanks (Storage tanks) are to API620 or API650 or other "Tank" standards whereas ASME VIII is a pressure vessel Code. Your pressures may be outside the Scope of ASME VIII. Using ASME VIII is well over the top for design of a Tank.

    API 620 IS FOR TANK DESIGN AND ASME SEC VIII DEV1 IS FOR DESIGN OF PRESSURE VESSELS. If you can not find any design particulars in API 620* you can refer ASME sec VIII.
    Ultimately ASME SEC VIII is bible for design considerations
