A mathematical model for cooling tower

I need a mathematical model for designing cooling towers. Is there any software?

Exactly what do you need?

1.- To model and calculate a Crossflow Open Cooling Tower?
2.- To model and calculate a Counter Flow Open Cooling Tower?

What type of "fill" you need to use? (depends on the water quality and properties), Splash or Laminar fill? (each type of fills uase differente coefficients on the calculation).

Are you looking for the algorithms and logic to create your own program or you need a software program? There are several programs available, the easy ones to get are for sale (very cheap, US$ 450.00) on the web site of the Cooling Tower Institute

However, to perform calculation of specific Cooling Tower configurations using specific types of Fills, you will need a more powerfull program having the coefficients for the fill (of which the majority are not public, since they are technological property of each cooling tower manufacturer).
